Bishop Berkley Offers Condolences To The Family & Friends of Former PM Manning

Condolence – Former PM Manning

The passing of former Prime Minister Patrick Manning is deeply regretted and holds for us a deep sense of loss. On behalf of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Trinidad and Tobago, I extend to our sister Mrs. Hazel Manning and her sons Brian and David, our heartfelt condolences on the passing of this great person, leader and citizen. The passing of a dear husband and father must be a great loss to any family and we assure you of our prayerful support during this challenging time. Yet Mr. Manning extended himself way beyond family considerations. In that spirit we extend condolences as well, to his wide circle of relatives, political associates, friends and admirers.  We have experienced his dedication, discipline, goodwill and charm as a member of the church. Similarly, we have been impressed by his statesmanship, citizenship, political maturity, visionary nature and sense of purpose. Indeed he was a devout patriot. Mr. Manning has served his country well and we salute him for his sterling contribution to nation building and regional integration. As a Christian, he displayed committed and devoted service to his God and his country. We commemorate his example, his life and his work.

Rest eternal grant unto him O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. May he rest in Peace!

+Claude Trinidad and Tobago.
