Spoken Word Competition Finals

The Anglican Church in the Diocese of Trinidad & Tobago extends congratulations to all participants of the Spoken Word Competition Finals, held in commemoration of the Holy Trinity Cathedral’s 200th Anniversary.

The event took place on Sunday 23 July 2023 at the UWI School of Education Auditorium. The theme was, “Our Words to You” and seven (7) finalists took to the stage to bring us their offering. At the end of the evening’s proceedings, Ms. Khadijah Halliday of St. Lucia, emerged the winner, with Ms. Shimiah Lewis and Ms. Soleil LeBarrie (from the Parish of St. Andrew, Couva) taking home second and third place respectively.

We also take this opportunity to thank our guest artistes: the students of Escallier Anglican Primary School and Mr. Jamaal Pierre-Roberts of Trinity All Generations Steel (TAGS).

Special commendation goes to the 200th Anniversary Committee, the master of ceremonies, the judges and the patrons for making the event a resounding success! Pictured below are a few highlights of the competition.
