Youth Synod 2026

Youth Synod 2026: Summary of Proceedings

On Saturday, 11 April 2026, youth from 26 parishes gathered at St. Thomas Parish Hall, Chaguanas, under the theme: ‘Re-engaging Ministry and Stewardship: Navigating Faith in the 868’;

1. Spiritual Foundation & Leadership
The day opened with Morning Prayer led by Lay Minister Cecily Trim-Regis and a stirring Reflection by Youth Preacher Ms. Jewel Stewart. Bishop Claude Berkley delivered a spirited presentation, offering undying encouragement and a call for youth to take up the mantle of leadership and active stewardship.

2. Focus Areas & Actionable Responses
Stimulated by a presentation by Ms. Andrea Rochford and expert Table Moderators, delegates tackled three pillars: Digital Discipleship, Green Governance, and Mental Health. Each group presented actionable responses, outlining how they will contribute to progress:
– Individually: By practicing digital kindness, personal environmental responsibility, and peer support.
– Collectively: By launching parish-level initiatives like Green Teams, digital ministries, and mental health ‘Safe Spaces’.

3. Celebration & Support
The Synod concluded with a joyful praise session led by Sandy & Friends. The event was made possible through the administrative support of the Diocesan Office and Accounting Staff, technical expertise from AIVAX ICT, and the logistical service of TTBEPS Student Volunteers and various local vendors.

The result were steps for the youth of the Diocese to turn their faith into tangible action across the pavement of Trinidad and Tobago.
