It featured performances by the National Steel Symphony Orchestra (N.S.S.O.); the National Philharmonic Orchestra; the UTT Jazz Ensemble; the Presentation College Mixed Choir and the Signal Hill Alumni Choir.

The large audience that filled the Lord Kitchener Auditorium to capacity enjoyed selections from a range of musical genres such as classical, calypso, jazz, folk and soca. Calypsonian Roderick ‘Chuck’ Gordon, classical Indian dancer Susan Mohip, musician Rana Mohip, vocalist Helon Francis and saxophonist Anthony Woodruff also performed in collaboration with both orchestras.

In attendance were several government ministers; Kelvin Charles, Chief Secretary Tobago House of Assembly; Chief Justice Ivor Archie; Bishop Claude Berkley of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Trinidad & Tobago, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Specially invited guests of the Prime Minister also included children from the St. Jude’s Home for Girls, the Princess Elizabeth Home and members of the Bishop Anstey High School Choir.
