First Female Dean Appointed In T&T Anglican Church

The appointment of a woman at a senior position in the Anglican Church is historic.

Dean and Rector at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Shelly-Ann Tenia, says she is humbled by the appointment.

Reverend Claude Berkeley noted that the priesthood is male-dominated, and the Anglican Church has made a tremendous shift in its thinking.

He said this was not done lightly, and certainly not just to increase the number of women in the clergy.

Dean Tenia said she did not see this in her future when she was young, but she is grateful that her gifts and talents are being used so well by the Lord.
