Dr. Brader Brathwaite
Dr Brader Adaleine Brathwaite, nee Lynch has written extensively in the fields of Allied Health and Education. Her many publications in AIDS Education, Substance Abuse Prevention Education, and Youth Development consist of Reports on her local research findings, her work on Programme development and training programmes in those areas, some of which were never previously touched, e.g. Gay Research Initiatives and AIDS in the Caribbean. She also participated in a CARICOM project as a CARICOM Commissioner on Youth Development when she passed research skills to Youth in CARICOM territories so that they could compile the Voices of Youth in member countries.
H er first book (1978), nay, a booklet in Education was called Chemistry and its Cousins , an attempt to demonstrate to the first graduates from the Junior Secondary school system how the subjects they had selected for CXC were related to the Chemistry they were then pursuing.
In her second book, Teaching Inside -Out, (1989) she reflected not only on her presentations at Conferences on Education in the 80s but on the classroom practices and personal philosophies of four distinctive teachers in the primary school system in Trinidad. With symbols and metaphors their modus operandi emerged as: the river, the banyan tree of life, the disclosing light, and the artisan. [This book is now available only as a pdf file.]
In her most recent publication, Meeting the Teacher in Jesus, inspired by a visit to Jerusalem and by her retirement from an illustrious career as an Educator and Researcher, she sought to capture with the application of Literary and Education terminology, Jesus as the Master Teacher, a term that had been in use for ages, but not yet fully clarified. She documented from the Gospels His Mission, Aims, and Objectives, Subject Matter, and His methodologies in teaching environments in Jerusalem. Her current writing in progress- The Wall with the Jumbie Juice is on witchcraft, as she returns to her original village and is baffled by witchcraft practices of newcomers who apparently attempt to endear her to them through their methods. The book will expose where witchcraft, even from Biblical days, would have no place in the Kingdom of God.
Devon Mendoza
Author of: Can Women Preach and Teach the Word of God?
Devon A. Mendoza is a simple soul in the Body of Christ who advocates the Gospel of God’s Kingdom. Brother Devon strongly believes in the ability of properly understanding and applying scriptural teachings among believers in Jesus Christ.
The subject of women being, or not being allowed to preach and teach scripture has been heavily debated over the years. There have been people who are against women preaching and teaching, some have been in support of the practice, and others are uncertain about the topic.
In this book titled: “Can Women Preach and Teach the Word of God,” the author directly addresses the subject for clarity and confirmation.
Brother Devon has sought a simplistic approach as he speaks on the topic for the average reader who has or doesn’t have seminary training.
A major component of the book is it’s heavy use of scriptural passages, so that the context of key verses would be correctly represented.
This endeavour is to aid the Believer in growing their knowledge and understanding of the bible; as well as encouraging greater love for studying scripture, and love toward Almighty God.
Book will be available in stores soon!
