Advent Adventures with Aunty Pé

Advent is the time of preparation for the coming of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. The church celebrates this time in prayer and learning. We look at the journey through the ages to what brought us to the point of Jesus’ birth. Advent takes place four weeks before Christmas. The liturgical colour of advent is purple, which signifies a time of prayer, penance, and sacrifice. We also use purple to signify the royalty of the coming King, Jesus.

This booklet aims to give Sunday school aged children the opportunity to explore the themes presented during Advent using child friendly material. To Prepare, to experience the Journey and to watch for signs of Jesus.

The Adventure is guided each week by a Buddy, (local animal), who will walk them through each activity. Each week is filled with activities: Song, Craft, Snack, Bible Story.
