St. Christopher Anglican Parish salutes Dexter “Peck” Francis

Dex­ter ‘Peck’ Fran­cis for­mer Strike Squad play­er and for­mer na­tion­al foot­ball cap­tain, was ho­n­oured by the St Christo­phers An­gli­can Church of Siparia week of ac­tiv­i­ties in cel­e­bra­tions of its 69th Trav­ellers Ral­ly/Eman­ci­pa­tion Ser­vice pro­gramme last month.

Fran­cis, a de­fend­er who was al­so out­stand­ing for the for­mer De­fence Force team, was cel­e­brat­ed dur­ing two friend­ly match­es which at­tract­ed the likes for an­oth­er for­mer na­tion­al stand­out Lar­ry Joseph, who lined up with Sea­soned Sand­flies to play against De­fence Force Mas­ters team and a Church Team.

Fran­cis, 55, of Siparia played for three teams – Tesoro Pa­lo Seco, Trin­topec Pa­lo Seco, and De­fence Force af­ter start­ing play­ing as a youth for Siparia An­gels. He al­so played for his school teams – Siparia An­gli­can, and Siparia Ju­nior and Se­nior Sec­ondary schools. He al­so en­joyed a coach­ing stint from 2010 to 2013 with school teams around the South­ern com­mu­ni­ty.

The Church al­so paid trib­ute to Canon Ceasar, a for­mer foot­ball ref­er­ee and foot­ball or­gan­is­er. Among the ac­tiv­i­ties host­ed by the Church were aer­o­bics, net­ball, foot­ball and cy­cling.
